Artist Research #4

Maurizio Savini is an Italian artist that creates huge sculptures out of chewing gum. His work engages all of the senses in some way. Using thousands of pieces of chewed gum, Savini molds them into the shape he wants.

After making something out of chewed gum myself, I have mad respect for this artist and his sculptures. Gum is not super easy to work with, and the way he handles it in his work is really spectacular. The textures he can get with the gum are really interesting, and I'm sure these pieces have a very distinct smell when viewed in person (which is cool! It engages more of the senses.)
