Artist Research 06 - Sandy Smith -

Sandy Smith is another installation artist that usually decorates large empty rooms with sculptures yet still keeping the spacious feeling much the same. I really like how colorful and tactile her sculptures and how they aren't over come by the the negative space they sit in.
She really knows how to balance neutral tones with saturated colors to bring a neat contrast that really catches the eye, and when she adds this to unusual shapes and formations  she creates a really cool effect

I also enjoyed reading what she all had to say on her process on her site as well. She really goes in depth in her process and how she comes to figuring out her installations based on concepts and ideas she's hired to create. I feel like I learned a lot about the development process just by looking through her in progress documentations.
