aDaigneault #4 - Beth Cavener Sticher

Beth Cavener Sticher has the worst portfolio website I have ever seen in my life. But she is a really, really cool artist! She works in ceramics and sculpts really elaborate and weird animals. She has her MFA in ceramics from Ohio State and, among other places, has taught sculpture at the Cecil Academy of Art in Florence.

Um so her work is really kind of gross the animals are all really pretty but also really like...aggressively off-putting. They all just seem miserable. I really like the techniques she uses to add texture to the fur though, it's really elegant and reminds me of carved wood more than ceramic.
