"One of the most influential architects of the mid-20th century, Louis Kahn (1901-1974) realised relatively few buildings, yet the formal restraint and emotional expressiveness of his Jonas Salk Institute, Kimbell Art Museum and the Capital Complex in Dhaka are regarded as an inspired progression from the International Style.

In doing artist research, I seemed to be drawn more towards architecture than anything. It's weird how this class has come to make me appreciate geometric forms in a way that I didn't previously. This building in particular was fascinating to me because of it's perfect geometric shape while being made out of materials that seem to blend into it's surrounding landscape. The contrast there is interesting because nature is mostly made of organic shapes so even though the materials blend into the environment, the shape of the building stands out. Very creative, and very beautiful.
